I never thought I would love the month of February, but it’s becoming one of my favorites. Pre-spring. I’ve already spotted several bunches of blooming daffodils. This winter was a piece of cake and the weather this week was the icing on the top. We recently took a spontaneous detour on the way home from James’ parent’s house and found a lake and trails. They are actually part of a state park that we have visited several times. We came back prepared the next time with fishing rods. Charlotte and her older cousin threw out a few casts, but the worms kept stealing Charlotte’s attention. “I’ll miss my wormy friends,” she said as she put them in a worm home of grass she made on the ground, a statement I’m sure she stole from her other cousin. The girls gave up fishing 15 minutes and 2 locations later. We packed away the fishing gear and set out down the path, the girls racing ahead. We followed the path through signs telling us not to as the sun set on the lake. The day felt a little like a vacation inside a Bob Ross painting. We will definitely be back to see all the happy little trees.

Great photos!
That lake is like a mirror! The bridge picture is so awesome, I love the curves! I also can’t get over Charlotte’s dress!
That dress is hilarious. She loves it. It makes her seem so southern. I was obsessed with how reflective the lake was. Thanks, Katie!
