The girls went down to tell James that we were about to eat dinner, and then they never came back. Eventually I went out to investigate and decided that dinner could wait. They were working on building a tent in the back of James’ truck. They love playing back there, and sometimes James will give them rides up and down the driveway in the back. Not quite as fun as the rides I got as a kid in the back of my dad’s pickup truck, but they think it’s pretty great. After they got the tent up, they decided they needed chairs and then a table, and then Chuck had to go in and get some food for dinner. Winnie kept summoning James for fizzy water. After their meal, I heard it was time for Winnie to go to school, so they walked over to her school between the rain barrel and the bikes. Roland hung out with me on the deck enjoying the cooler temperatures.
