On nights when Ella has soccer practice, Ethan and Charlotte become buddies. After Ella left, they worked a little more on the pulley they had all been working on together and then spent some time on the swings before settling into making magic with the dust they created on the ground. They kept saying they were doing tricks and would have me look the other way, and then they’d say, “See, it’s magic.” I wasn’t really sure what they were referring too, but dust in the sunlight is certainly magic. After throwing the dust around enough, they started making dust bombs on the swings. By the time we left, both girls had a layer of red Georgia dirt covering their bodies. When we got home, I couldn’t skip bath time like I was planning. After playing in the bath for a little bit, I was just about to get the girls out when Winnie pooped in the water. Some of it got on Charlotte, and she was gagging. I got them out, pointed Charlotte to the toilet in case she puked, and Winnie pooped some more on the bath mat. I was trying to clean the tub up, so the girls could get washed up again all while trying to keep them from slipping or touching anything or stepping on poop. It almost made all the rat poop we’ve been cleaning up this week seem like no big deal (thank you neighborhood rat infestation). Some weeks you’ve just got to deal with some shit. This was one of those weeks.
