Lately I’ve been dreaming of days spent on the beach. This was the second time in what will hopefully become a tradition of going to Edisto Island with my family and my husband’s family. This year was epic. Three houses rented for a little over thirty relatives. Lots of shared meals…including a waffle recipe multiplied by 10. Birthdays, a new baby, giant bubbles, and a kiddie basketball hoop. Cards with my grandparents. Naps on couches and lazy coffee filled mornings on the porch. The best sort of vacation is where you can all stay at someone else’s house, drown each other out with the waves when needed, and hire someone to come clean as you drive home.
