I really need to be better at writing down what was happening when I was taking these pictures because as more and more time passes between the time I take the pictures and the time I get around to writing about it, I forget so many of the details. The girls often wear their swimsuits around the house. They are always pretending to be at the beach or the pool or mermaids. I love that Winnie is putting on her clothes by herself now, but she’s had a hard time figuring out how her swimsuits are supposed to go. Personally, I think the wrestling singlet look is pretty great. Since they were on vacation at the beach, they had packed several swimsuits to change into. We were having chili for lunch, and they asked if they could eat it outside at their beach. No problem. In the pool, they took turns holding onto the jumprope practicing their kicks and swimming across, and it wasn’t long before they decided they needed to be mermaids, no mermaid princesses.
Side note: Winnie is obsessed with these box elder bugs that are everywhere. She finds one and catches it and carries it around with her all day long talking to it in a high pitched voice. She’ll often name it Rosie, and it’s always a girl. She eventually ends up unknowingly killing it somehow.
