Grandma was here for the week doing our dishes and entertaining the girls. She always brings a suitcase of excitement with her, and since we celebrated both of the girls’ birthdays this weekend, the suitcase was especially exciting. For their birthdays the girls got butterfly dresses and butterfly wings, caterpillars that we got to grow into butterflies, and butterfly books. Charlotte especially loved pretending to be a butterfly (or Queen Olivia as she called herself) and fluttering about wildly. Our caterpillars transformed into chrysalides and are now butterflies that we will be releasing in a couple days. The week was honestly a blur, and every day seemed to be over just as it was beginning. Luckily, I got some extra time to sleep in and cuddle with the littlest one (who has become so awake and alert and so much bigger over the course of the last week) while Grandma played with the girls. Thanks to FaceTime, we can hang out with Grandma again soon, and we only have a couple more months until we will see her and the rest of the family in Iowa.
