The girls had been painting in the kitchen, and then they disappeared to the playroom. It was far too quiet in there, so I went to spy on them. It’s so satisfying catching them engrossed in play together. Many times I leave them alone to not sabotage the experience, but this time I snuck in to find out what they were doing. “You can’t have this, Mom, it will kill you,” Charlotte told me as I came in. Apparently, the potion was only meant to kill the bad guys, and thankfully, I was not one of them. She was making an experiment out of glass stones, rocks, and Shopkins (her newest obsession). Those 3 items have been a source of entertainment (and argument) for both girls all week. Charlotte has been sleeping with her Shopkins, Winnie can be found with a little glass stone clenched in her fist at any given time, and all of the above items have been scattered all over the floor all week. The playroom is going to be gutted soon, so I’m sort of just letting it stay a chaotic mess until I have to deal with it. It will be nice to potentially have an organized, simplified play space for the girls, but I’m going to miss this quirky little messy space.
