Amusement must be play in its easiest form; pure entertainment, thrill, and excitement. Winnie and Charlotte enjoyed their first visit to an amusement park while we were vacationing in Iowa with my family. There were 18 of us ranging in age from 1 month old to grandparent age, and it was interesting to notice the different ways everyone found a way to play and be amused throughout the different activities of the day. I got suckered into a chaperone admission pass which was supposed to let me ride the rides with Charlotte…but it turned out that it didn’t include any of the fun rides. It was fine, I just wanted to take pictures anyways. I mostly enjoyed watching how the different personalities of the kids affected their experiences. Winnie so badly wanted to go on the rides, but the first one she got on was not what she was expecting and she wanted off the whole time. Charlotte pretty much embraced the thrill of the rides. The first time down the Log Ride was a little scary, but she wanted to ride it again a couple more times later in the day. The day was filled with roller coasters, funnel cakes, slushies, and ferris wheels, and no one even threw up. Arnold’s Park, thanks for a great time. I’m pretty sure at least Angelene and James will be back for a rematch on the racetrack.

Absolutely love seeing this and want to give you a big ol’ midwestern hug! Your girls are adorable and I love seeing all the looks of pure joy on their faces.
Thank you, Rachel! They had a great time for sure. I really wish our paths could have crossed in the midwest this summer!
