Summer ended early this year, and as it is now officially fall, I’m finally taking a moment to appreciate what an incredible summer it was. This was one of those summers I will forever hold dear to my heart. This was the first summer (of hopefully many) that my niece got to hang out with Chuckie and me for Camp KK. We spent our days hanging laundry, playing in the dirt, playing in water, and playing in sand. We made mint limeade almost every day for lunch and invited neighbors and friends over for tea parties. We made grand plans for the day and then gave them away to the spontaneity of childish whims. We made blueprints for basket pulley systems and pirate ship bathtubs. We never finished either project. We made messes; we made memories. It was pure summer perfection.
